Pre-Assessment
The Pre-Assessment module allows users to perform a one-time analysis to quickly understand their data environment. Users can specify which folders or files to include or exclude, assign a name to the assessment, and generate an immediate overview of data distribution, storage usage, and file composition.
Configuration

The main components of the Pre-Assessment window are outlined below:
Paths - Specify one or more file paths or directories to include in the report. After entering the path, press Enter key on the keyboard or click the
to include it in the crawl. Click the
to clear all entered paths. Click the

Toolbar
At the top of the report, a toolbar provides quick access to reporting functions. Detailed information can be found in Toolbar.
Results
The results are presented in dashboards and tables. Users can access the Pre-assessment dashboard and detailed tables for subsurface and application data.
An additional tab is available to review and manage all tags.
Pre-Assessment view
This dashboard provides an immediate snapshot of the overall data landscape, helping users assess their environment before setting up ongoing reporting or monitoring. Users can quickly identify data volume, storage distribution, and project integrity across applications and subsurface data types.
Dashboard components
- Last Run - Displays the timestamp of when the pre-assessment was executed.
- Number of Files - Shows the total number of files detected in the environment.
- Disk Usage - Indicates the total amount of disk space occupied by all detected files.
- File Systems Crawled - Lists the drives or directories included in the assessment.
- Access Denied - Displays paths that could not be accessed due to permission restrictions.
- Potential Mirrors - Identifies duplicate or mirrored data sources that may require review.
- G&G Applications - Lists all detected applications, listing the number of Projects, disk usage, and duplication percentage for each.
- Petrel Projects - Provides detailed metrics for Petrel data, including valid and corrupt projects, the number and size of internal and external ZGY files.
- Subsurface Data - Lists detected subsurface file types (e.g., .las, .sgy, .segy) with corresponding file counts, disk usage, and duplication rates.
