1. Coming to Cenova Command

The next release — Cenova Command 1.1 — groups around four themes:

ThemeWhat you'll be able to do
Find anything, fasterSearch every indexed file and slice dashboards by tag.
Act on your dataMove duplicates and stale data, driven by reusable rules.
Less manual workAutomatic attribution of wells and applications, plus more data types out of the box.
Run it with confidenceStale-data analysis, finer permissions, database backups, and distributed Edge.

Find anything, faster

  • Full file listing search — locate any indexed file by name, path, or attribute in one place, not just the dashboard aggregates.
  • Tag-filtered dashboards — carve out a per-team, per-project, or per-BU view without losing the global picture.
  • Filter by date range — narrow any view to a specific window so you can focus on what changed when.

Act on your data

  • Move — send duplicates or stale data to an archive tier directly from Cenova, building on the v1.0 Data Hygiene workflows.
  • Rules engine — codify how Cenova classifies, tags, and acts on data so repeatable analysis becomes automation.
  • Enhanced Data Assessment — broader coverage and tighter integration with rules and tagging.
  • Batch hash computation for seismic deduplication — multi-select seismic groups and compute hashes for all of them in one go, instead of one group at a time.

Less manual work

  • Automatic well attribution — well files (.las, .lis, .dlis, …) linked to the well they belong to, so well-level reporting works without manual tagging.
  • Automatic application attribution (R&D) — auto-detect which subsurface application (Petrel, Techlog, Geolog, …) a project or file belongs to.
  • External ZGY and digital well data — both formats appear in the Seismic and Well dashboards and search alongside what's already covered.

Run it with confidence

  • Last modified / last accessed analysis — new views on the Seismic and Wells tabs make it obvious what's active, stale, or ready to archive.
  • User and permissions improvements — finer-grained control over who can see and act on what.
  • Multiple datascapes — define and run more than one datascape so different teams or business units can scan and report on their own scope of data.
  • Stop a running scan — cancel a scan in progress directly from the status banner, without waiting for it to finish or run incorrectly to completion.
  • Hash request traceability — record which user requested a hash computation in the Data Hygiene workflow, for clearer audit and accountability.
  • Database backup — built-in backup of the Cenova databases so the index and configuration can be protected and restored.
  • Distributed Edge — run the Cenova Edge on a separate node from Cenova Server so you can place indexing closer to the data and scale independently.

2. Planned modules

Cenova Command is the foundation. Domain modules layer on top to add deep, data-type-specific capability.

Cenova RE

Aggregate Reservoir Engineering models in one place: overview map, time-series of changes, side-by-side compare, tagging, and storage broken down by asset, simulator, and user. Covers tNav, Eclipse, CMG, Echelon, and Intersect.

📁
Cenova Project Tracker

The next generation of Blueback Project Tracker, brought into the Cenova suite. Discover, monitor, and manage Petrel projects across your estate — usage, health, dependencies, and lifecycle — in the same UI as the rest of Cenova.

🔑
Cenova License Manager

Unified, real-time visibility of your software licenses across the organization. Usage trends, top users, denials, peak-time heatmaps, renewal & expiry tracking, and cost attribution — available on-prem or in the cloud.

🗺️
Cenova Geospatial Viewer

A built-in map view for Cenova: see your subsurface data in its real-world location, overlay surveys, wells, and projects on a single canvas, and drive dashboards and search by what's on the map.
